Yes or No Tarot: One Card, One Clear Answer
Think of a question that can be answered with yes or no, then draw one card from the full deck of 78 tarot cards. You get an instant answer – yes, no or maybe – and a short reading that helps you look at your question from a new angle.
How yes or no tarot works
Phrase your question as concretely as possible so it can really be answered with yes or no – for example “Should I accept the job offer?” rather than “How will my career go?”.
Focus on the question for a moment, then draw a card. Each of the 78 cards has a traditional tendency: cards with opening, constructive energy (such as The Sun or the Ace of Cups) mean yes, cards of blockage or loss (such as The Tower or the Three of Swords) mean no, and cards that depend on your own action or on circumstances mean maybe.
Why only one card? A single card gives a clear direction without several statements contradicting each other. For complex questions a spread with several cards works better.

Reversed cards in yes/no questions
Our yes/no tarot draws upright cards only, so the answer stays clear. If you read with reversals yourself, a reversed card usually softens the answer: yes becomes “yes, but not yet”, and no becomes “no, unless something changes”.
Good yes/no questions
- Love: “Should I make the first move?” – better than “Does he/she love me?”, because the answer is about your own action.
- Career: “Is now a good time to apply?”
- Decisions: “Is this move good for me?”
- Avoid double questions (“Should I do A or B?”) – ask them one at a time.
The limits of yes/no tarot
Tarot does not replace medical, legal or financial advice and does not predict the future. Use the answer as a prompt for reflection: how do you feel about the yes or no? That reaction often shows what you actually want.
For complex questions: start a reading with several cardsFrequently asked questions
How accurate is yes or no tarot?
Yes/no tarot is not a prediction but a prompt. Its strength is giving you a clear direction and making your own reaction to it visible.
How often can I ask the same question?
Ideally once. Repeating a question until you get the answer you want mostly tells you what you wish for – a useful insight, but not a new answer.
Which cards mean yes?
Mainly cards with opening energy: The Sun, The Star, The World, Wheel of Fortune, the Aces and many Cups and Pentacles cards.
Is the Death card a no?
In yes/no readings Death usually counts as no in the sense of “not like this”: something has to end before something new can begin.
Is the yes or no tarot free?
Yes. The yes or no tarot on 4mytarot is free and needs no sign-up.
